Lucky's gambit is a team project where I contributed as a game programmer and designer. It was submitted as an entry in the 7dfps game jam, which granted us 7 days. Despite the game being a bit rushed due to the time constraints, I am quite happy with what we managed to do in such a short time.
In between each action level there is a bonus game which allows players to stack up on chips (and get some extra credits). This mini-game while simple, adds some charm to the game.
All the chips you collect in the game are stacked on a poker table, which is persistent (doesn't reset when advancing levels) and exists in 3d space. With the clever use of render layers and cameras I take a 'picture' of this table and use it as a UI element on the corner.
